When he was a kid, he spent a great period of his time on the road with his parents, who were missionaries. His father James Colson Baker struggled with depression and joblessness as did his mom Sonia Alane left them when he was nine. Baker moved to Denver along with his father, and lived there for a time. Baker experienced bullying from kids in the neighborhood due to of his poor living conditions. When he was in sixth grade, he began listening to rap. Colson Kelly was born Machine Gun Kelly on April 22, 1989 in Texas. The artist is famous for mixing hip-hop that is contemporary and alternative with rock in his music compositions. Prior to signing with Bad Boy Records Baker released four mixtapes between 2007 and 2010. These Cleveland artist, who can deliver lyrics as fast as bullet-trains, had an astonishing rise towards the end of 2011 when he switched to self-publishing mixtapes instead of signing with reputable labels. Then his career exploded every album being ranked within the top 10.
