Antonina Shevchenko

Antonina Shevchenko is an Kyrgyzstani and Peruvian Muay Thai fighter as well as mixed martial artist currently competing with the Flyweight Division of the UFC. She is also the older sister of former UFC Flyweight champion as well as the fellow UFC competitor Valentina. Antonina Shevchenko first began combat sports in the form of a Muay Thai Kickboxer. Shevchenko made her debut at her first IFMA World Championship Tournament of 2003. Shevchenko defeated Suzane McKell in the finals with a unanimous decision. Antonina kept her winning streak going by getting bronze and silver medals in 2007 and 2008 respectively, and a gold medal in 2011 as well as the year-end 2016 IFMA amateur Muay thai world champion. Antonia's professional journey began in 2003. In 2012 she won the WKC K-1 Light Welterweight World Championship, in 2016, she won the Lion Fight Lightweight Championship and in 2016, she won the WMC World Championships. Antonina was last in action against Isa Tsidblad Keskikangas in the Phoenix Fighting Championship. She was victorious by an unanimous vote. Antonina shevchenko fought her debut professional MMA fight in 2002, against Anara bayanova at the KFK Cup of Kyrgystan. She was victorious via TKO in the second round. She went on to win her two fights following, both at WXF X-Impact World Championships of 2003. This gave her a 3-0 MMA record. Shevchenko stopped her involvement in MMA to focus on kickboxing. She returned to fight Anissa Haddaoui in Phoenix FC 3, 2017. Shevchenko defeated Anissa via unanimous decision and then defeated Valerie Domergue at Phoenix FC 4. The league was dissolved in the year 2018, Shevchenko enrolled into Dana White's Contender Series. Shevchenko beat Jaimelene Nievera during Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series 11 Antonina displayed her power of striking by tying Nievera using knees. Antonina Shevchenko was given an UFC contract following this win. Antonina Shevchenko made her UFC debut in the TUF Heavy Strikes Finale in the fight against Ji Yeon Kim. Shevchenko was victorious with a unanimous decision. She losing her following fight to Roxanne Modafferi via split decision. Antonina was able to bounce back from losing and defeated Lucie Puddilova in UFC on ESPN Covington-Lawler by rear-naked submission during the second round. The bout earned Antonina the Fight of the Night bonus. Shevchenko fell to Katlyn along with Andrea Lee in three of her subsequent fights. She fought Ariane Lipski, and was also defeated by Ariane. Antonina is currently being lost to Casey O'Neill in UFC Fight Night Santos Walker.
